Licensure and Accreditation

NWCC is a licensed “Career School” with the State of Oregon Department of Education in accordance with Oregon Revised Statues (ORS) 345, effective April 1, 2006.

NWCC is also an administrator of apprenticeship training programs with Training Standards and Apprenticeship Committees approved by the Oregon State Apprenticeship Training Council and overseen by the Bureau of Labor and Industries as well as by the Washington State Apprenticeship Training Council and overseen by the Washington Department of Labor and Industries.

Accreditation

NWCC is accredited by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) which was created to address the critical workforce shortage facing the construction industry and to develop industry driven standardized craft training programs with portable credentials. NWCC is licensed as a private, non-profit technical career school by the Oregon Department of Education.

The NCCER Mission is to assure that industry clients receive quality services and industry workers have rewarding, progressive careers. The NCCER provides world-class craft training materials, opportunities for leadership growth, and effective safety training that will enhance productivity, cost-effectiveness, and the image of the construction and maintenance industry.

The quality and standardization of NCCER's Contren® Learning Series and Skills Assessments is accomplished through a formal accreditation process. Through this process, participants receive quality training based on uniform standards and criteria. These standards are presented as policies in the NCCER "Accreditation Guidelines".

National Registry

In an effort to provide students and craft professionals with industry recognized credentials and assure national portability of skills, NCCER maintains a National Registry. The National Registry provides transcripts, certificates of completion, and wallet cards when training is delivered through an NCCER Accredited Sponsor. These valuable industry credentials benefit students as they seek employment and build their careers. (picture of certificates?)

The NCCER organizes its course curriculum into a series of modules. The National Registry is a record of every module successfully completed by every student enrolled in an NCCER accredited institution such as NWCC. All students who receive training delivered by an NCCER Accredited Sponsor are eligible to receive transcripts and documentation of their training accomplishments through the National Registry.

Programs And Structure

NWCC offers construction craft, supervisory, safety and management courses developed by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) as well as the very best curriculum available through our sponsoring partners and other quality sources.
