Carpentry Series

NCCER Contren® Learning Series Course

NWCOC’s Carpentry program provides students with a full range of carpentry skills, with 4 skill levels, delivered in a modular format.  Starting with a basic carpentry orientation, students progress to an introduction to the tools and materials of the trade and end with all phases of form-building, frame-construction, finish carpentry, and commercial and industrial construction carpentry skills and techniques. In addition, students will also learn to measure accurately, read blueprints and master the mathematical skills needed to calculate dimensions, determine quantities and costs of materials, and perform a wide range of layout tasks.

Students who complete all four levels of this curriculum and obtain roughly four years of on-the-job experience will qualify as a journey-level carpenter anywhere in the nation.
